After days of anxiety and uncertainties, the NPFL
season will now start towards the end of February after a meeting of
Club Owners and the League Management Company in Abuja
The
Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) 2013/14 season will kick
off on February 23, a top official of one of the elite division clubs
has told Goal.Last season ended on October 20, 2013 and it has been difficult picking a substantive date for the commencement of the coming season with the CAF licensing regulations for clubs and the current African Nations Championship (CHAN) holding in South Africa among other hiccups.
But in a meeting held between the League Management Company (LMC) and Club Owners in Abuja on Monday January 13, it was unanimously agreed that the NPFL 2013/14 season should start on February 23. Let's hope this season will bring up unforgettable of good football. Kano Pillars are the current champions of NPFL and are favourites to win this season.
